The Bronze Bow
by Elizabeth George Spear
This is the latest book assignment I had for my children's literature class. It. Was. FANTASTIC. On a scale from 1-10, a definite 10. I give it 5 big, sparkly stars.
If you haven't read it, you really should. It's about a Jewish zealot named Daniel who lives in Judea during the time of Christ. He hates the Romans and has devoted his life to preparing to fight for the freedom of his people. When he meets Jesus, the carpenter from Nazareth, he wonders if he is their long awaited leader who will take them to war. The book is about his internal struggle as he learns from the teachings of Jesus.
Seriously guys, go read it. I'll tell you this much; I can no longer say that I've never cried while reading a book. Those last few pages...holy cow. The tears were FLOWING.
